We all have questions,

here are some answers…

Who is my therapist outside of therapy?
My name is Caroline Raposo. I have grown up in Missouri my entire life, but have been grateful to travel throughout the US, to Canada, to Mexico, and the other side of the world in China. I am married to an awesome guy named Micah, who is a wonderful dad to Davin and bonus dad to Lola-Joan and Bobby J. I am a passionate plant mom and wannabe self-sustaining gardener. I credit my greenthumb to my grandad who passed it to my mom. I LOVE the outdoors and horses and in another life I would’ve had an apothecary, a midwife or performed on Broadway. I opened my private practice in 2019 as a single mama. Recently I have begun to write fiction, non-fiction and children’s books, aspiring to be multi- published author by 2025.
So what makes you qualified to be my therapist?

I studied at MidAmerica Nazarene University receiving a Bachelor Degree in 2007 in Intercultural Studies. In 2011, I attended Missouri Baptist University to obtain my Master’s in Counseling in 2011. After 3000 supervised hours, I was licensed in August 2014 as an LPC, Licensed Professional Counselor. I have worked in social service settings including St Louis Crisis Nursery, Compass Health, and BJC Behavioral Health. After obtaining my license, I began private practice specializing in therapeutic techniques including Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Mindfulness Based Therapy, EMDR, Somatic Experiencing, Inner Child Work, and the Gottman Method.

What can I expect in my sessions?
Our first session will be 90 minutes. It will include getting to know each other and an introduction to the therapeutic approach I offer. I will provide a workbook that I have created as we embark on this journey, 5 online courses, a journal, and a customized plan for your therapeutic journey. I teach skills, provide experiential therapy, and ultimately work towards accomplishing your goals and healing your trauma. I attempt to provide an upgraded customized therapeutic experience. My hope is that 5 years from now you’ll be able to reflect on our sessions and see tangible life long changes within yourself because of the work you did and information you learned in our sessions.
How do I know this is the right approach for me?
Until we meet, you won’t. I am an experiential trauma therapist. I help you dig deep. The work we will do might be intense. I want real lasting change to happen within my clients from the inside out. If you’re not quite ready for that, I may not be the right fit. If you are struggling with stability or feel suicidal, I may not be the right fit just yet. I can however recommend some great resources and therapists that may be a better fit at this time to help you become stable. I do not currently see adolescents or children. I do offer parenting skill sessions if you have kids that are struggling.
Do you take insurance?
As a therapist I choose to not be limited or restricted by insurance. I have found I am a more effective therapist without limitations that insurance can cause in the therapeutic journey. I attempt to provide the highest quality and curated therapy experience.
